From: Doug Meerschaert <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>Doug, are you on crack this week?
I humbly suggest that the NboC folks consider correcting "Ultimate Prestige Classes"'s Section 15, and tell them to include it in their next printing & in their erratta file.
It strikes me as the most fair thing to do--keeping costs minimal for Mongoose while giving proper credit to the NboC authors.
Mongoose has been reprinting and selling large chunks of freely available OGC, NOT contacting the authors before doing so, NOT bothering to vett their material to make sure they were compliant, and playing fast and loose with their OGC designations. In short, they have basically been doing EVERYTHING that this list has been concerned about the "bad" publisher's doing.
So you think the authors who were screwed out of credit for their work should go ... hat in hand ... and humbly BEG them to maybe, just maybe give them credit in the next volume?
At the very LEAST, I think every author that was slighted should get $0.05 per word and a free copy of the book. MUCH cheaper than a mass recall (which is what is allowable).
The ONLY thing that these guys even ASKED for their efforts initially was to get credit for their work. Nothing else. The NETBOOK people are the HEROES! While everybody else was talking trash and protecting their own interests, these guys were there giving to the commmunity.
I think they deserve our support a little here.
