We've done this. We were polite and not at all unreasonable in our request,
In my opinion. I didn't want to start a flame war, or use abusive language
which would only piss off Mongoose and make them never want to work with any
netbook material again. We weren't looking for monetary compensation, simply
credit. Let's face it, most of the people doing d20 publishing are gamers
first, business people second. Don't tell me it didn't positively thrill you
to see your name listed in the credits on your first published project. I
know I got a glow when my artificer prestige class was chosen as the first
featured class for the website, and every time my classes were published in
the netbook of classes. But, satisfying though that was, it didn't compare
to my first printed credit in Interludes: Brief Expeditions to Bluffside.

I know that, had Mongoose seen fit to do a proper section 15 and credit each
author, seeing their names in a published product would have been plenty of
compensation. We're talking about bragging rights in a gaming group. Being
able to point to a product and say, my stuff is in there, at a convention.
Mongoose stole that pleasure from our authors.

Thank you. But again, we do it because we *want* to. We do it because we
would do it anyway.
