It looks like there is still some disagreement about the context
dependence issue.  I think we've spent far more bandwidth on the
issue than needed to be spent, so I propose we take a vote, and
go with the more popular option.  Here are the proposals that
seem to have the most support.  Please vote for one, then let's
tally up the votes, make a decision, and move on.

  a) glXGetProcAddressEXT() returns a context independent pointer.

  b) glGetProcAddressEXT() returns a context dependent pointer.

  c) I don't care.

I vote for "a".
