If the glibc ABI is being broken in perpetuity, can this reasonably
be addressed by the GL ABI? Shouldn't this be taken up with the
glibc/pthread maintainers?
b.
OT note: There are other practical problems outside the scope of
this ABI effort, which should also be taken up with www.linuxbase.org.
Like an installer standard that ISV's/IHV's can rely on for deploying
GL drivers. A "Linux GLSetup" is impossible given the current
API/ABI - or lack thereof - for install/uninstall,
dependency/versioning, and hardware/config autodetect). If you
are interested in this, please contact me offline. Heretic2/Quake3
and the 3dfx/nVidia/Matrox drivers have taught us a few lessons, and
I don't expect this issue to go away magically.
