I apologize if it seems like I'm splitting hairs, but its important to note
that nobody has any intention of breaking compatibility with non-ABI
programs. This is an SDK issue only, the runtime is unaffected. Depending
on the outcome of this debate you may or may not have to make a minor change
to your makefile in order to recompile legacy apps - but the old binaries
will continue to run, with the caveat that they are no more or less portable
between implementations than ever.
