Ahem, this is my fault. Turns out that being proactive is BAD. I was calling
RefPtr->unref(); on a few pointers, which would automatically do exactly that
when going out of scope, causing things to explode in a big firey mess.
So, I removed my invocations, and everything is peachy once more.
