Summary: Entering a number key does nothing on various menus
Product: OHRRPGCE
Version: Nigtly WIP (Zenzizenzic)
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows Vista
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: CUSTOM.EXE (Usability)
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
In previous versions, when browsing menus such as the Palette selector, I could
enter a number key and the list would automatically jump to the first item with
that number, much like how the Text Box editor currently works. Want to jump to
box number 5, 5X, 5XX, etc? Press the "5" key. Want to jump to palette number
3, 3X, 3XX, etc? Press the "3" key.
In the recent nightly releases, however, this does not occur with all menus
anymore. Menus that do not register number keys include:
-Almost every submenu in the "Edit Graphics" category (Edit maptiles, Draw
Walkabout Graphics, Draw Hero Graphics, Draw S/M/L Enemy Graphics, Draw
Attacks, Draw Weapons, Draw Box Edges, Draw Portrait Graphics)
-The "Edit Map Data" list
-The "Edit Tag Names" list
-The Palette Browser
Everything else, however, is receptive to number keys, noticeably the Item
editor. I bring this up because most of the lists above are vertical and
unreceptive to number keys, whereas the Item editor is the exception. Hope this
makes sense.
The main purpose of fixing this bug is to enhance CUSTOM's ease-of-use,
especially when dealing with large, dense games with tons of data to sort
through.
