Do we know what it is that they need in the i915 kernel driver? If the
changes are modest, I'll pick them up. I'd feel better if I were
working more closely with one of the Xorg people.
Note that this isn't a high priority item for me, so if someone else
wants to pick this up, that would be great too.

driver writers request - but I don't know who you'd send it to once you
gathered it, since as their URL shows, they work on Linux upstream, and no
one has stepped up to maintain the Illumos kernel driver for i915 graphics
yet.
