I don't know if apps in the field use these, but I've updated the gcc bugtracker asking: http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=41495 I think we can proceed with the gcc work on the assumption we can ignore the C++ stuff for now - I'll raise a separate topic about this.
