I've worked on the initial port of Xorg Intel 2.18.0 and ATI 6.14.6 radeon
driver update
and decided to revisit the recent driver releases for Q4 of Y2012.
Now, I'm porting over the 32-bit/64-bit binaries for
Xorg ATI Radeon 7.0.0 driver and the Intel 2012Q4 graphics package
for OpenIndiana and posted related bits over on the OI bug report for Radeon.
The main Xorg drivers being ported are:
1. Xorg Intel 2.20.15 driver
2. Xorg ATI Radeon 7.0.0 driver
The Mesa 9.0.1 build for Solaris brings over the related 3D DRI drivers
for Intel/Radeon (i.e. Intel HD Graphics 4000 & Radeon R600/R700).
The LibDRM 2.4.40 binary package is attached to the OI Radeon ticket for
further OI/Solaris development and includes
libdrm libraries for libkms/omap/exynos/nouveau/intel/radeon (i.e. everything
and the kitchen sink).
All of the related "userland" device drivers and libraries are mostly ported to
OpenIndiana.
BTW, two developers/maintainers are researching the Intel DRM kernel patches
for Illumos.
Feel free to use it for further R&D on Solaris/OpenIndiana. The updated Radeon
DRM Illumos-based kernel patches may
come after the holidays.
