Hello all, Are there any good, complete and up-to-date manuals on creating an OI distro from scratch - starting with the build of illumos-gate (which is documented quite well) and going on to addition of some more userspace software packages from unnamed gates (oi-build?) and using the distro constructor (it is documented on Wiki, I'm not sure if that text needs any additions to be used as-is in order to roll your own LiveCD or a LiveUSB image).
Likewise, are there complete manuals for SFE and SFE-Encumbered? What I'd expect to see ultimately is a number of steps like these: * bootstrapping the build environment(s), i.e. under current OI * checking out current gates of incorporations (right term?) like kernel illumos-gate, and userspace oi-build(?), jds, sfe... * building the lot * making a bootable distro image with desired contents and an IPS (SVR4, DEB, .....) package repo for other optional software Are there documented public procedures that I haven't seen so far, perhaps glimpses in mailing list archives, or this is all partially black magic knownst only to those irreplaceable people who practice it and build the corresponding distro pieces today? PS: Also, are the SFE/SFE-Encumbered repositories available for simple deployment within a LAN, like the oi-dev repositories? I.e. regular tarballs, or rsync access?.. Thanks, //Jim Klimov _______________________________________________ oi-dev mailing list [email protected] http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/oi-dev
