Is there a plan to do anything about this illumos build noise for hipster?
Or what was the response to this "flag day" for OI?
The easy thing would be to just deliver what illumos needs in /usr/lib,
including libstdc++.so.6 and libgcc_s.so.1 (and the symbolic links etc) so
that legacy binaries will just work.  A later version of libgcc_s.so would
be fine also, as long as it's link-time compatible (and normally it is).

If you build illumos with gcc as the primary compiler the appropriate
runtime libraries are always required, nothing has changed about that.
What's changed recently is automatically setting the RPATH to include
/usr/sfw/lib where Sun and thus others have historically put the gcc 3.x
runtime libraries.
