I was told by the illumos developers that OI tracks illumos quite closely. Is this no longer the case? illumos updates are normally a good thing. illumos-gate problems are quite rare, and are fixed quickly when they do occur. I watch illumos changes every day. There are many of them. All are needed. All of them fix problems or add features. Freezes on illumos-gate are a bad thing in general. We need all those illumos updates, and need them in a timely manner. Freezes over a long period of time will cause trouble for OI because it may be difficult and risky to get OI out of an illumos freeze. Of course, a short-term freeze while the ISOs are being prepared is understandable and is unlikely to cause a problem with OI. Maybe that is the way it's normally done. -- -Gary Mills- -refurb- -Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada- _______________________________________________ oi-dev mailing list oi-dev@openindiana.org https://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/oi-dev
