I added some findings to the issue related hald and newer glib versions. hald do not not work with newer glib versions than 2.63.4. because there is a change in g_io_channel_read_line which handles the output of the function differently if the string contains null character. The change seems reasonable for me. (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/glib/-/issues/2002) But remains the question what special line/string receives g_io_channel_read_line for hald here and how should this handled in hald. Or should a better string send by DBUS (or whoever). -- Carsten
