I don't know if this has already been resolved, but ilmbase is used by IlmImf 
(A.K.A. OpenEXR) for sure, and we may use bits of it here and there as well, 
but possibly not directly.  But since OpenEXR assumes it's present, we would 
like to be able to freely use it should the need come up.

You can ignore Field3D and HDF5 for now -- the f3d plugin is still fairly 
immature, and OIIO overall will build just fine if those packages are not found 
(merely without f3d support, which almost no users will miss).
