It would be much better if the people fluent in Windows actually use Windows
and fix whatever is awkward or broken. Let's use the opportunity of a bunch of
new people struggling to get the system built to find ways to improve the
process.
Also note that a fix to the build system counts as the patch requirement for
student applications.
