You can contact this mail list, just as you have done. What you should do now is (1) download the source, build it, and play around with iv a bit (I say that primarily because both of the projects you mentioned involved iv); (2) think about which project you are interested in and turn our brief description into a more detailed design and plan for implementing and testing it -- that will be the bulk of your student application for GSoC; (3) find something (it doesn't have to be related to your proposed project) to fix or improve anywhere in OpenImageIO, even if it's just a one-line fix, and submit a proper pull request / code review (without which we won't consider your application in #2). -- Larry Gritz [email protected]
