Hi, This year I am at first time heard about GSoC and noticed an OpenImageIO because of its impressive format agnostic plugin system for image reading. I am fond of photography and was surprised that OpenImageIO not support RAW images from my Nikon photo camera (NEF format) and Image Viewer displays only thumbnails of NEF images. So I done some survey and found a nice open source C/C++ library LibRaw (http://www.libraw.org/) that provides functionality for processing RAW files (NEF, CRW/CR2, RAF, DNG, and others). I am preparing my proposal about implementation of plugin for NEF image format which maybe includes implementation of another popular RAW format used in Canon photo cameras CR2.
