We can modify contrast in two ways. Absolute and relative. Absolute sets the contrast to absolute value and relative multiplies the old value by some factor and therefore increasing/decreasing contrast relatively by some percentage.
I vote for a parameter bool absolute, which if true/false we will apply contrast in an absolute or relative way. We could have this parameter for brightness operation too. The user on command line can specify what he wants by an additional argument besides the contrast value.
