When somebody posts to the mail list from an email that is different from the
one they use to subscribe, the message is temporarily held until the moderator
(me) can approve it. I have been fairly good at doing so very quickly. This
doesn't usually happen very often -- maybe once every several days. And also
rarely, the message turns out to be spam (low interest rates, berries that cure
cancer, PhD by mail, enhance the size of your junk, etc.).

But just in the last several days, the spam has really picked up -- now we're
getting a dozen or more spam messages a day waiting for my approval/rejection.
It's gotten to the point where I just can't drop what I'm doing every time I
get an alert that a message needs moderation. I'm going to start ignoring them
as they come in and moderating once a day.

* Be patient with the fact that my batching them like this means that messages
that need moderation may not get sent to everybody as promptly, or possibly
could be inadvertently lost in a sea of spam (I could imagine making mistakes
and accidentally discarding a legit email).

* Please try hard to send mail to the list using the same email you use to
subscribe, so the messages go through without needing moderation.
