Opus is not only not a direct dependency of OIIO, but in fact I'd never heard 
of it before. (And this is not a build error we've seen reported before.)

I don't understand... if it's a transitive dependency via libavcodec, shouldn't 
it have been automatically installed at the time that libavcodec was installed 
or built?
