This PR (https://github.com/OpenImageIO/oiio/pull/2348) is the one that will
bump OIIO's master branch (and releases 2.1 and beyond) to requiring a CMake
version 3.12 or newer.

I would say "speak up now if that's a problem," but actually, the time for that
is over and it's going to happen regardless. (And many other projects in our
ecosystem also require 3.12 or even newer, so your problems would not be
mitigated by OIIO holding back.)

So instead I will just say, if you are relying on keeping up with OIIO master,
now is the time to install a modern CMake, because in the coming days it will
break for you if you don't have cmake >= 3.12.

Also, please accept my apologies in advance. The new build system builds on
Travis, Appveyor, and GitHub Actions CI, as well as on my laptop and my work
Linux machine, but it will undoubtedly break for somebody. We'll try to fix
right away.
