Hi everyone,

for a personal project I want to use oiio as a dependency via conan.

I have seen OIIO has already made a step in the conan direction providing a
conanfile.txt so it can easily install all the dependencies as a consumer. I am
now interested in making oiio a conan package itself.

I was searching the web a bit starting at conan-center but did not find any
ready recipes. So I made a prototype myself, working fine on my machine and
needs: https://github.com/klosteraner/conan-oiio

Now my question to you:
How is the relation of the community to conan? Are there maybe already recipes
(conanfile.py) or ready packages out there? If not, would you have interest in
starting conan packaging support by providing a conanfile.py as part of the
repo that would be developed over time (as a template to adjust for custom
needs)? Or would you rather see this effort on conan side by providing an
official wrapper?

After some general statement to the above,
I would be happy to start a discussion about details.
Please suggest also the best platform to do so (maillist, PR, ...).

Best,
Martin
