I'm going to be looking to implement OIIO-based ST map distortion to fit some of our internal needs, and one idea that has been floated is to write the core logic as an `ImageBufAlgo` function. However, before going that route, I wanted to take the temperature on whether that sort of thing sounds like a logical and worthwhile addition to OIIO, as I wouldn't want to put us in the position of having to maintain our own internal patches.
