Selecting columns for report queries

Ok, so I've figured out that if I call PersitanceBroker.getReportQueryIteratorByQuery( Query ) that I got back an iterator over Object[] where each Object[] contains fields in my data objects. What I can't figure out how to do is select which columns show up in my Object[]. I assume I'm just missing something in the API. Anybody?
