I think currently there is no cluster-safe caching implementation. There
is
a JCS based cache implementation in the code base and on JCS web
page they a promise a multi-tiered cache, but I don't know if this stuff
is ready to work for you

Another possibility could be a JMS-based cache implementation,
but nobody works on such a beast.
