Many users do this as PersistenceBroker queries are more flexible and even allow direct execution of SQL.

There is only exception: The semantics for cascding updates and deletes is different in ODMG and PB. In ODMG you *must not* set auto-update="true" and also not auto-delete="true". This sole difference is documented in tutorial3.
