Mh, IMO going into some details can't be avoided.

Here is the management summary:
1. TopLink and OJB have a comparable featureset
2. TopLink has no ODMG support. TopLink has only limited JDO support.
3. OJB does not have a graphical mapping workbench yet.
3. TopLink is not for free.
