It seems that you are using PlatformSybaseASAImpl.
Try using PlatformSybaseASEImpl :
<jdbc-connection-descriptor platform="SysbaseASE" ...
in repository.xml
(I know nothing about this, I just looked in the source code and saw there
were two different platforms for Sybase, one of which executes that
statement, and one of which doesn't.)
