hi, i think it is... we have writen our own layer around it, and have writen manymany junit tests that currently all pass... then we have loads of 'services' supporting our business logic on top of that wiht many many many more tests taht also all pass... then we have per application more specific businesslogic test and they pass as well ( at least for my projetcs :-) )... so my guess is that it's sound... of course there are bugs.... but then there are also work arounds...
