Hi,

As Armin said, check for the presence of any other log4j.properties files on
the classpath - they may take precedence over the file you are modifying.

If there is a clash, and you can't change the order of the
classpath,(depending on your version of log4j) is to specify the
url/path/name of the log4.properties file as JVM System property - look at
the log4j docs.
