I can also reproduce a ClassNotPersistanceCapable (or similar)
if I webstart my ojb client, but only if webstart console is not
enabled. The app runs fine with log enabled and outside webstart.

seems you are right. are there any possible workarounds? i'm not very 
experienced with classloaders, so i really haven't a idea how to fix that.
