We are following an approach that is quite similar to the STRUTS / OJB integration as covered by Chuck Cavaness recent O'Reilly book on struts. He wrote a whole chapter on Struts/OJB integration.

In our download section there is a contrib package that contains a sample web app built by chuck! It' the famous beer for all web shop!

I am very interested in integrating struts and ojb with jetspeed. I am
wandering how do you do it right now? Do you work with the jetspeed team or
in a private effort?
It's closed source commercial effort. so I can't share any sources.

For the European Commission, we are using OJB for a financial application
with a great success (based on Oracle database). We plan to integrate OJB in
jetspeed for building a "financial portal application". If you have an issue
with OJB, see in the mail forum archive, it is a great help. Support via
this mailing list, it is really fast.

We are currently evaluating products supporting object persistence.
To My question: Is existing an reference-list of commercial use for ojb or
are there any experience using ojb in "large" productive projects?

thanks
