Obviously the feature is not attractive enough for itself to be implemented by
a developer.
How about set up a monetary incentive through sites like
http://www.bidforfix.com or any other site the developers choose?
There are enough people who want this feature and might be happy to support the
implementation by a few bucks, euros...
Just an idea.
