Bug ID: 311885 Severity: wishlist URL: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/89889/Image/okular_edit.png Version: 0.15.90 Priority: NOR Assignee: okular-devel@kde.org Summary: Bottom page bar waste to much vertical space Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux Reporter: thek3n...@gmail.com Hardware: Ubuntu Packages Status: UNCONFIRMED Component: general Product: okular I really like Okular. I think it is the best document viewer of the world. But there is a problem in Okular from a long time: the bottom page bar. There are many problems related to it: 1. It UGLY. It introduces too much gray unused space. 2. It wastes vertical space for just a pair of numbers and two green arrows. In a world made of small 16:9 displays the vertical space it's like pure gold. 3. Moreover the green arrows have the same function of next/prev buttons in the toolbar. The only solution now is to disable the page bar... but it's useful to see document pages number! I think there is a more practical solution: remove the page bar and integrate it in some other place. For example we can put the page number indicator between Prev/Next buttons in the toolbar (like in the linked image) or at the bottom of the navigation panel. In a document viewer application I think that the document must have the maximum space available. My proposal go exactly in this direction. Have a nice day!
