I changed the respective line of the bash script to:

The crashes now already occur on opening the okular document archives. I will
attach two logs from valgrind. One is with "LEAK SUMMARY", the other with "the
`impossible' happened". These are the two types I get.
Is there any merit in staying with the version I have installed at the moment?
Otherwise I'd like to exchange it for the current unstable version from git as
I'd like to use the crosshair cursor while annotating. I could still run this
new version under valgrind if that helps.
