That's what I'm doing also. > problem in extracting them because when I try to edit the author in the book > record, only a limited number of Mary Hamiltons shows up in the drop down > field, NOT the full list of Mary Hamiltons. Because the Mary Hamilton I am > looking for has only published a few works, she is not on this list! Yes, this problem is plaguing me also. > So what > I need to do is go back to her author record and distinguish her name so I > can narrow my search and return fewer results in the author drop-down list. > Right now I am adding "bump" to the beginning of her name, so "Mary > Hamilton" becomes "bump Mary Hamilton". I'm doing the same workaround also. I first try using something a little more covert, such as a period or hyphen at the end of the name. But if it still doesn't show up, then I put something like the birth or death year or occupation in the name, which I will recognize. But it is the same idea. > It would be much easier if I could specify the exact > author I am looking for in the author field by using the OL author record > number > it would be nice if the author drop down list included the author's > birth and death dates, Yes, either (or both) of these would be very helpful improvements. - Alan _______________________________________________ Ol-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.archive.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/ol-discuss To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send email to [email protected]
