There is such a need to identify these "series" that there is a book published by the library association that is a guide to these:

Having these as lists or somehow connected in OL would be a great service. I don't know of a comprehensive place for these online, but there is a beginning in Wikipedia, such as: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Novels_by_series All in all it doesn't seem terribly well developed, and yet there is a definite need that perhaps could be filled in OL. Maybe we should experiment with a field for "Book series" or add a field for character names (since many series are held together by one or more characters, e.g. Miss Marple or Kinsey Milhoun).
