Hi Alan, There's no reason you shouldn't be able to edit authors... I noticed some duplicate author entries when I was looking at your issue, so I took the chance to merge them.
The main author page is now here: http://openlibrary.org/authors/OL142868A/ And you should see the normal "EDIT" button in the top right of the white area.
