Hi everyone,

I have a question about the relationship between editions and works in
OL. My impression was that every edition would correspond to a work
(i.e., there would be no work-less editions). However, if you consider
the example

http://openlibrary.org/books/OL23919332M/The_letters_of_Sylvia_Beach

and look at
http://openlibrary.org/api/volumes/brief/olid/OL23919332M.json you
won't find any 'works' key. (This is also true at
http://openlibrary.org/api/books?bibkeys=ISBN:9780231145367&jscmd=details&format=json)

Is this a 'feature' or a 'bug'? In other words, is there supposed to a
work corresponding to this edition? My read of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/openlibrary/+bug/595347 is that this is a bug
and that every edition should correspond to a work. Is that right?

Thanks,
-Raymond
