On second thought, it might be Good Reads. I was copying ISBNs from Good Reads and pasting them into the search field at Open Library without really looking to see that they really did paste. Just now I tried copying and pasting one of the ISBNs that you said worked and, indeed, I got a result. Then I went to Good Reads to get another ISBN and it did not work. So I started to reply to your message with that ISBN as an example of one that did not work. I always proofread my emails before sending them and when I did I saw that the ISBN that I thought I had pasted into the email was not there. I then went back to Good Reads and copied that ISBN again and then tried to paste it into the Open Library search field. This time I actually looked before hitting the enter key to search. It was empty. So, apparently, it is not a problem with the Open Library search. It is a problem with Good Reads such that I am not able to copy an ISBN to my clipboard. Sorry about the false alarm.
