I think that is a great idea, Jessamyn. Let OL not be like many other libraries that only make sense to... librarians (I am a librarian too, at least that is what my diploma sys; but I make a living programming and teaching programming).
On the other hand, perhaps a better idea would be to launch another site, with another name, to promote the ebooks available in OL. Of course this would cost a few hundred times more than just changing the default.
