Not really, as much as there's a hive of activity around Open Library there are also a lot of competing priorities within the Archive so there's no clear "This is what is happening and we have this many resources dedicated to getting those things to happen and this is the deadline we are working towards" As a result, there's not public/published stuff about the project's status. I wish there was, I'm right there with you. Lots of hand-wavey explanation as to why, but unlike most standalone Open Source projects, there are a lot of things that filter through "corporate" and then wind up getting shuffled in with the other organization's priorities. We've got some grants we're working on that we hope will address some of that.
