I've partially implemented of the proposed API and put it on my dev
server.

http://ol.anandology.com/api/books?bibkeys=0670020923&format=json&jscmd=data

The earlier details=true extension is still supported.
http://ol.anandology.com/api/books?bibkeys=0670020923&details=true

The response of the jscmd=data currently includes:

url,
title, subtitle,
authors,
identifiers,
publishers, publish_places, publish_date,
subjects, subject_places, subject_people, subject_times,
links,
cover

I'm yet to add description, excerpts, classifications, ebooks and more.
One small difference from the proposed API is that the complete url is
provided instead of the key.

Please have a look at it and let me know your feedback.
