It is also possible to use the BookReader code with your own books and search infrastructure. There are a few example where people have successfully used the BookReader on their own sites including Library of Congress (http://read.gov) and the Rome Olympics 1960 commemorative site (http://www.roma1960.it/).

Dear Open Library team,

I am currently looking for a book viewer application
to display digitized books.
Your book viewer looks neat. Good work.

I ‘d like to know if this is a standalone web application
or is this based on Infogami (I actually don’t know much about).

The bookreader a a standalone web application. You can see the documentation here:
http://openlibrary.org/dev/docs/bookreader

What kind of interface does the viewer need to work?

The bookreader a javascript application that uses jquery. There is a bit of infrastructure required if you want to use the image scaling backend or search, but otherwise you can use any webserver.

Is it allowed to use the viewer under another brand?

Yes, as long as you comply with the license (Affero GPL v3).

Best regards

Thanks!
