To get that information you'll need to use at least the editions dump (5.1
GB) and the authors dump (1.2 GB), so you're not really saving much over
downloading the entire dump (and I'm not sure you won't need the works file
to get the author or subject/genre in certain cases).  Since there were 77
million editions and 9.3 million authors as of last summer, and probably
more now, even your subset of info is still going to be of substantial size.

If you are unable or unwilling to download the dump and extract the desired
information yourself, you're going to need to get someone else to do it for
you.  OpenLibrary only makes available the complete dump and the three
subsets (works, editions, authors).
