Whether OL can take in your records depends in part on their format and content. At the moment, OL ingests records in MARC21, and there are certain requirements that need to be made in the data so that the records will fit in and "play nice" in the OL environment.
OL does not have an update mechanism in place for records coming from libraries. However, adding your records will not mean that there are covers for them. OL takes covers from other sources, where they are available. There would need to be a source of covers for items in your collection, and it would have to be a source that OL can take in.
