Hello,
Why? The daisy books are heavily encrypted and all I would be doing is downloading the zip files. Having this functionality would really help in building apps for NLS authorized readers to access Open Library books. All the current NLS readers have max 500 MB of ram and loading more than a few web pages takes a really long time. All the readers have a bookshare application that allows one to connect to the internet, open up the Bookshare app, then search the bookshare library for books. Then one just hits enter on the book title and it is downloaded and unzipped into the reader's book-reading folder. This makes it so accessing the web is only happening 3 times rather than 5+ times and there is no extra links and whatnot.
In
my case I have totally given up trying to download daisy books directly onto my NLS reader as the website just takes way too long. If I had a way to download daisy books directly then it would really really help!
Thank you,

AFAIU, there are legal limitations to distributing the DAISY
    files, as most are copyrighted.

And OpenLibrary/IA respect those limitations by only allowing those authorized by the Library of Congress to download them.

The problem is that the OpenLibrary API (at least as far as I know) has no way to allow a client to authenticate on behalf of a user to be able to use this functionality. It would need OAuth2 support or something similar to make this work.

        Hello,
Is there a way for me to trigger the url request for the daisy
book using info I can pull from the API? I know I need to wait
for it to create the book, but one shouldn't need to have the
        website up to do that...
        thanks,

        Hi,

        Thanks for contacting us.

I don't believe so because daisy.zip files are made on the
fly and do not exist as files in the items.

        Thanks for using archive.org <http://archive.org>

        Hello,
Does the API support downloading protected daisy books?
If so, where can I read the documentation?
        thank you,
