Looks more like a CSS issue. Maybe your map container has a thick margin set or something? Also, you could try to call updateSize() on your map instance after you've set the final map layout - looks like you are doing some css/js hacks to make the map fullscreen on mobile. An alternative could be to use the browser's fullscreen mode.
But without seeing your code, it's just guessing. And as you said, Stack Overflow is a better place to ask such things. Andreas.
