I took the best/recent version I could find at some point and then I 
maintained by applying changes manually as I found out something was wrong. 
(rarely).

Then there was a change after 1.16 that involed many namespace changes and 
we have not updated since, and therefore i have not got around to update 
the ol3-dist.
no ETA on when i find time for it
